Finding Bliss in Gerber Daisies

Lets make a deal.

I promise to write about Blissdom but for now I want to only talk about sunshine and flowers. For you see, Blissdom was not as blissful for me.  The reason I blog is for friendships, to feel connected and to keep my sanity. My expectations of Blissdom were about meeting friends, hugging necks, swapping stories and strengthening bonds.  I walked away sad and frustrated.

The day I stop answering comments and don't enjoy my blog is the day I quit blogging.

So actually my friends, I just made two deals with you!

Now for the flowers...

Christy- okay those flowers are gorgeous..Of course it is 29 here with winds over 50 mph so all flowers are beautiful. The cupcake has suddenly made me hungry - thanks..

Thanks for the Winter-day boost! Loved every image.

(What a bummer about Blissdom. I would have LOVED to hug your neck!)

Hi Christy-

We are in the middle of a blizzard here in Pa and the photos of the daisies make me smile, knowing that Spring will soon arrive. I also love the blue door with the doogie door. I want that door. I am sorry to hear that Blissdom was not what you expected. I would have been searching for you and given you a big hug. I am going to a small blog conference in Baltimore, only about 80 people. I am hoping to learn a lot. Hope you have a good day.

I love the daisies...they're so pretty and colorful! We're sitting amongst 12 inches of snow here in Ohio. It's nice to be reminded that spring is on the way!

I'm sorry about Blissdom:( If I was there, I would have hugged and made all over you. Thanks for promising to stay connected with us!

Have a good week! Lisa

This is such a beautiful post! I'm sorry you didn't feel as happy about Blissdom as you expected. I was a little sad last year afterwards because it was so easy to be in the shadows (at least it was for me).

But I made the effort this year (during the year) to get to know a few people a little better and this year Blissdom was better! I felt slightly more connected to my friends. Still feel in the shadows but really enjoyed getting to know people better.

It is hard though with 499 other bloggers to get to know everyone (let alone FIND anyone!). And that makes me sad. I would love a smaller home bloggers meet up sometime!

Hang in there.

I don't think you're the only one who felt that way. I was feeling like I absolutely must start saving right away to go next year, until I read a few candid reviews. Now I think I'll think about it some more. I'd love to meet some of my favorite bloggers, but I don't exactly have a niche, and I worry that I'd just end up on the outside looking in....

Love your inspiration photos today. :)

I LOVE Gerber Daisies! And thank god and bless your cute-ass heart! If I read one more "look at me!" account of the Stepford Wives conference I was gonna scream. Don't feel too bad for not getting "pledged by the sorority." Your blog is as good as anyones and who the f is keeping count anyway?!! We should have our own event. It'll be called the "Lay on the beach all weekend with cocktails and magazines cuz there's more to life then BLOGGING" event.

I so love Gerberas! You can find a great deal on them on every street corner in Manhattan. I grab them up.

Man girl... I am so terribly sorry. I hate that your event was blissful. I hate that you didn't feel connected. I hate that you felt frustrated and alone. I'm so sorry.

Just know that you are connected and you are loved beyond belief. You are amazing. You are a delight. Your blog offers a fantastic sense of YOU--for those of us who know your heart and your blog we are the LUCKY ONES!!!!!!

So sorry blissdom wasn't everything you thought it would be but thanks for being honest about it. Most people probably wouldn't be.

I'm so sorry that Blissdom left you feeling disappointed. With so many people there, it's easy to feel lost.

I spent a good bit of time wandering around, literally lost.
