Smut Lit. My closet addiction to Contemporary Romance Fiction

photo

Thank you Christian Grey.  I have now read more books & lost even more precious sleep thanks to my new addiction to Contemporary Romance Books.  Thank gawd I have a Kindle. The covers of these books would just kill me.  Seriously, until Shades of Grey, I could count on one hand the number of books I have read...EVER. So now that I have come out of the closet or at least from out behind the Kindle, let me pass on what I have been reading.

Don't judge.
Yes, I know.
You're right.
Mom, quit reading right now.

1. The Shades of Grey Trilogy by EL James.

Where the obsession started. Still my favorite. 5/5 stars.

2. Bared to You by Sylvia Day

This is similar to Shades of Grey character wise. Fast paced with a weak plot but it works for me. I don't remember the language in this book or if the sex scenes became monotonous. I just remember it being a great beach read that kept my attention. I recommend it. 4/5 stars.

3. Hearts in Darkness by Laura Kaye

Loved this book. It felt short and I turned the pages extremely fast. The entire book basically takes place in an elevator. 5/5 stars.

4. Knight by Kristen Ashley

This book was a little crude for my taste. I guess I like my porn softer. It was still a quick read with a happy ending. 3.5/5 stars.

5. Love Unscripted by Tina Reber

I did not finish this book. For whatever reason it is dragging on and on. I keep thinking I will go back to it and finish it but I am "over it" for now.

6. Unleashed by Cherrie Lynn

Not bad. Another fast read. I like my books to end happy and to have realistic elements and characters. I would recommend this for a great beach read. 4/5 stars

7. Surrender to Me by Shayla Black
8. Wicked Ties by Shayla Black
9. Delicious by Shayla Black
10. Belong to Me by Shayla Black

11. Mine to Hold by Shayla Black**preorder for June 5th release

I lumped all these together. I am totally into these novels by Shayla Black. I believe I read one book a night. This author has written a lot but these are the only ones I am interested in. They are borderline crude and make me blush. Surely this stuff does not go on in real life??!! All the books follow a group of Navy Seal type guys and their love interests. The author lives in Texas, so there are several Texas references that I enjoy. 4.5/5 or a real close 5/5. I'm taking a little off a perfect score because I find myself skipping over some of the sex. The women in these books never talk about chafing. Come 'on, it has to happen.

11. On the Island by Tracey Garvis-Graves

Currently reading now. A great page turner. Very soft in the sex department. No rating yet.

There you go. You can either pray for me or thank me (maybe do a little of both).
So, what are you reading these days?

~XOXO~

I am a readaholic so no stones from me. Although I read more Paranormal Romance or Urban Fantasy I do read Contemporary Romance also. Depending on what I am in the mood for. Some of my favorites are Lauren Dane her writing is FANTASTIC and characters are amazing Brown Siblings and Chase series are the best), Jaci Burton, Lisa Kleypas, Jill Shalvis, Erin McCarthy I could keep on and on..lol I could talk books all night but I will stop their. If you ever get stuck for ideas email me and I could probably come up with some more..lol

I'm reading the third Christian Grey book now so no judging from me ;) As a library worker, I don't believe in censorship. If someone wants something particular to read, they should be able to find it at their library =) I'll have to try the Shayla Black novls. Haven't heard of her. Oh, and I LOVE my Kindle!

Hey paranormal romance can be pretty good, too, if you want to give it a shot! Patricia Briggs (The Mercy Thompson series_, Laura Ann Gilman (The Retrievers series) and Charlaine Harris (The Sookie Stackhouse series, which is what True Blood is based upon) are great. There is less raunch in these but they are real page turners and definitely have the romance. Plus strong female leads :)

No stones here either. I am much like you. In the past 4 years I have more books then I ever thought possible. I think I might be in like the hundreds. I have yet to read 50 shades of grey, but I hear it is really good.

Omg! I loooove Game of Thrones, the Borgias too.

I'm reading this author now named Alexandria Infante. her book came out last year; Teaching between Midnight and Dawn (Arieanna's Legend), and I totally loooove the characters.

I also like the fact that she's a latina author, cuz we don't see many of us in this field.

My dorm mate gave me her book, cuz she got it like from someone else, (they were sorta just passing it around lol to read to pass the time waiting for finals last week)

anyway, amazenly I loved the book!

We went to her site, and each book in the series ( she only has one published, but you can read sample chapters on the site) was darker, more sensual and better than the last lol.

but even with all the sex, lol cuz there is a lot, her characters have depth, you feel them.
She also has a chapter of Teach Me the Night in the back of this book, so you kinda know just a lil bit of what's gonna happen in book two that i think is awesome.

I LOVE YOU for making this list/suggestions! I follow you on Pinterest and anyone who does can tell you are a reader. My girlfriends and I read Fifty back end of January beginning of February and like everyone else we were obsessed! Couldn't find anything nearly as good until Bared to You which was a close second. About peed my pants when I saw Knight on your list because just this week in our desperate search to find a good read, my girlfriend came across it and we both read it. I described it as really bad but sweet in a weird and wrong way. Agree about Love Unscripted. I couldn't even finish the sample. Now I am trying The Marriage Bargain. Wonder if you've tried Gabriel's Inferno? Keep the suggestions coming....
