Electronic Organization

This is a simple solution for a messy problem (that we all have)! This household owns 3 Nintendo DS handheld games and 2 cell phones that need to be charged on-goingly (yes, I know this is not a word). I was so sick of all the cords and everyone seemed to want to plug all these gadgets in the kitchen. So after reading several DIY magazines, this is what I did to solve the problem:

Step 1: Start with This (or similar):

BreadBox
You can click on the picture to shop this item.

Step 2: Sweet talk Husband:
This is where I tell you that I don't have pictures of sweet husband drilling a hole in the back of this box. Let this be a lesson to you...ALWAYS TAKE PICTURES!! It was easy. He took a drill and cut a hole big enough to fit a power strip cord in the back.

See the hole? It's not that pretty but it works (& nobody sees it)! He put electrical tape around the edges so that it would not rub the cord or cut fingers. Again, not pretty but functional :)

See? Looks great! Just don't open the door...I am warning you...don't open the door...

Aaahhhhhh! What a scary mess (& probably a fire hazard). Now you can see the inside with the power cord. If I was Martha Stewart, I would have all the cords tightly bound with color coordinating labeled tags...NOT!

My inspirations came from this:

Love to All-

That's a great idea, always looking to hide cords!

What a great idea! I need to do something like this to store our electronic gadgets while they're charging.

What courage to do this yourself! I don't like cords all over either so this would be great.

That is so nifty! Yeah, all those cords and devices drive me a bit bonkers, but hiding them away like this is brilliant!
