The Black House

blue-black-monochrome-victorian-house-1

When I first saw this house, Apartment Therapy ran a story only showing the exterior.  It was not love at first sight.  In fact, I think I got a chill.  However, I keep coming back to this picture.  After some investigation, I have found the interior photos on FreshHome (check out link for more pictures).  This "black house" needs to be viewed in its entirety. It is still not my favorite but deserves some of my blog time for being so bold.

What do you think? Take it or Leave it?

Wow-what an INCREDIBLY UNIQUE home! It wouldn't be my first choice in outdoor color, but it is done so nicely, I could leave it black--I'd probably add some plants to the outdoors-that seems to be what it is missing-maybe some pink flowers too. Inside is very neat and comfortably done as well. Thanks for sharing this unique home!

it was so fun to look at but not typically my style - although the more I looked at the black house on the outside the more I wondered if I did like it!!
Glad your back blogging - hope the unpacking isn't kicking your butt too bad.

I would not have thought that those rooms were in that house. I like it, not my style, but it does make the black house more appealing!

Hmmmmm....to each his own. Its definitely NOT for me. They would probably say the same thing if they saw my apartment. : )

Wow! I hadn't seen this one. I couldn't handle all that black on the exterior, but I love the blue door. And it's really light and bright inside. The contrast is interesting.

I'm going to link to this post in one of my weekend roundups--probably next week's. Thanks! :)

How funny. I like the exterior alot. I actually like it more than I like the interior.

I'm emailing you the model address so that you can check it out. -c

No thanks! It's not 'homey' enough for me but WOW, it's impressive!

I like it! The garage door looks like they forgot it though. Maybe they ran out of paint. The inside of the house is Awesome too!

Jenna is right, this is a Black Beauty. The whites and grays of the surrounding brick and concrete enhance the drama. The interiors are fresh...not my personal style, but I love the creativity and drama.

This is definitely a keeper! TAKE IT.

At first glance, the black paint was a little off-putting but it has really grown on me. I also love the blue bathroom.

I am so Leaving It! To me it looks like a huge lump of coal, with all those gorgeous architectural details hidden by the paint. Same with the ceiling in the kitchen--it feels like a huge weight pressing down and gives the room a tunnel feeling! I enjoyed looking at it though, so thank you for posting! Linda
