Sponge Balls...Aye, Aye Captain!

Have you ever filled up a million of those little water balloons? It takes FOREVER and they are hard to tie. Not to mention the ones that pop and get you soaked. What will take you 30 minutes to do, the kids will destroy in about 3 minutes! There had to be a better way and I found it...SPONGE BALLS.

I bought a ton of these sponges (they come in a large pack) from the Dollar Store. Cut each sponge in 5 strips and stack them 3 deep. Tie a piece of twine around the middle and pull tight. Be sure to double not. The kids had a blast soaking them in a bucket of water and then throwing them at each other. Lots of fun for a hot day!!

Cute! My son is a little too young to understand water balloons, but this would be perfect for him.

This is awesome! Last week I spent 45 minutes filling up 2 buckets of water ballons. The kids had them all popped in under 5! I'm so doing this next time =) Thanks.
